μ's is the school idol group of Otonokizaka High School led and formed by Kosaka Honoka. They are a group of nine girls who formed the group in order to save their school from shutting down. They debuted with the song Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE and their most recent single is A song for You! You? You!!.
Though in the anime they had been disbanded for years before Aqours had been formed, in the game the groups are already present throughout the same timeline with the girls from both groups becoming good friends.
The name "μ's" came from Greek Mythology's 'nine goddesses of music', which consists of nine members. This name, canonically, was suggested by Tojo Nozomi, while in the manga, Honoka is the one who mentions it. Even with this name, they have performed songs without all nine members being present.
